6 Tisanes To Lose Weight

6 Tisanes To Lose Weight

There are mountains of scientific studies reporting the benefits of tea.

Tea can not only help regulate blood sugar and blood pressure, but it can also speed up metabolism, reduce bloating, feel hungry, stress and even kill several types of cancer cells.

Some teas are also perfect for something else: help you lose weight, or more specifically, slow down weight gain.

6 Tisanes To Lose Weight

Here is a selection of six herbal teas to lose weight:

1. WHITE TEA: THE BUS OF FAT.

White tea is dried naturally, often in sunlight, making it the richest source of antioxidants among teas – with up to three times more polyphenols than green tea.

A study published in the Journal of Nutrition and Metabolism (1) showed that it can simultaneously improve the distribution of fat in the body and block the formation of adipose cells.

It is also rich in an antioxidant that triggers the release of fat from the cells. This antioxidant helps accelerate the liver’s ability to turn fat into energy. White tea is the perfect herbal tea to lose weight.

2. GREEN TEA: REVERSES GENES RESPONSIBLE FOR FAT STORAGE

A study of 2014 (2) found that obese and diabetic people have gene expressions that differ from so-called healthy people. To put it simply, their genes are on the “ON” button with regard to fat storage.

And green tea in all this? Green tea contains a high content of catechin (3), a flavanol that can put on “OFF” the genes involved in fat storage and diabetes. Catechin also regulates levels of CCK, a hormone of hunger.

It sounds like science fiction, is not it? Yet this is indeed the current state of advancement of science in the field of nutritional genetics. Everything we knew about weight loss so far is being revolutionized by post-2010 scientific discoveries.

3. BLACK TEA: REDUCES THE EXPRESSION OF HORMONES STORING FAT.

Next time you are stressed, take a black tea.

Research has shown (4) that black tea can increase the speed at which your body is able to calm down. It is able to bring cortisol levels back to normal. Indeed one of the many problems of stress is that it prevents the fat cells from releasing fatty acids into your bloodstream.

The cortisol then takes care of this fat and decides to store it in the region of the belly. With this stored fat, and unburned, your body will look for more calories. You will eat even more. It is the “ball” effect of snow. This is why many people eat more when stressed.

4. BERBERINE TEA: PREVENTS GROWTH OF FAT CELLS.

Berberine is a naturally occurring chemical produced by certain plants. Berberine can prevent weight gain (5), even with a diet high in fat.

It also stimulates energy expenditure and reduces the number of receptors on the surface of fat cells. Because of this, it makes these fat cells less able to absorb fat.

5. RED TEA, OR ROOIBOS: INHIBITS THE FORMATION OF ADIPOSE CELLS

The polyphenols and flavonoids present in this tea reduce up to 22% the formation of new fat cells (6).

Tea rooibos contains a powerful flavonoid called Aspalathin, which can reduce stress hormones, they themselves trigger the sensation of hunger and fat storage (see above the effects of stress).

6. PU-ERH TEA: SHRINKS YOUR FAT CELLS

Pu-erh is a green tea fermented, dried and rolled into blocks. A study in rats (7) demonstrated that it significantly reduced triglyceride levels (potentially dangerous fats in the blood) and belly fat.

Although pu-erh tea may have a slightly different result in humans, there is enough research surrounding green tea to invite it into your cabinets.
