The crossfit, what is it?

Cardiovascular endurance, muscular endurance, flexibility, power, strength, coordination, agility, balance, speed, precision … Here are ten athletic qualities that the crossfit intends to develop or strengthen.

How? By means of various movements inspired by several sporting practices like gymnastics or weightlifting.

Developed by Greg Glassman, a former American gymnast, crossfit is defined as a particularly intensive cross- training that goes beyond physical activity into a true philosophy of life in which the balance of food and Hygiene of life occupy central places.

Can we lose weight with the crossfit?

As part of a weight loss diet, physical exercise is an essential part of it, as it will help eliminate excess calories and, if necessary, accelerate the melting of the fat mass.

In this, crossfit proves to be an ideal workout for people who wish to lose weight sustainably. Indeed, crossfit programs are sufficiently intense to force the body to draw energy from its fat reserves.

However, it is important to note that the results will only be visible after several weeks of regular training, since the elimination of the fat cells is very difficult to obtain. We must not discourage and persevere.

What kind of workout to lose weight?

Whether it is to support your weight loss or to develop other skills, crossfit sessions typically break down into four distinct phases.

The first is based on a dynamic warm-up consisting in preparing the organism in the following stages. Then the teacher will perform a reminder of the technique related to certain exercises to help you optimize your movements and progress.

The heart of the subject then begins with the phase known as “Workout Of the Day”, or WOD. The aim is to carry out the various exercises planned by the coach in order to achieve the objectives previously set. This step is particularly intensive.

Finally, the last phase allows a return to calm and a meticulous stretching of the muscles so as to facilitate the recovery.

Should I adapt my diet?

If physical activity is an essential leverage of weight loss, it can not and should not be dissociated from an appropriate diet. This is why the crossfit also advocates a balanced diet mainly based on the consumption of fresh fruits, vegetables, white meat and fish.

The protein must constitute a daily intake not exceeding the 30% of the daily caloric intake. Foods with a high glycemic index, for their part, should be consumed with extreme moderation.
