Super Breakfast for slimming: High-Protein Loaves with strawberries
Filled with proteins, fibers and complex carbohydrates, this breakfast is very nutritious.
If there is a very important meal during the day, it is breakfast. It replaces the nutrients that your body used during your sleep and allows you to eat healthier during the day in order to control your weight. High-quality proteins and complex carbohydrates are the cornerstones of a balanced dish (and maybe even more in the morning). Studies have shown that the protein ingested at breakfast naturally limits calorie consumption throughout the day while helping you to develop muscle. The complex carbohydrates such as oats and whole wheat bread are also needed for your workouts, in order to maintain your energy levels and to limit your desire to eat. Try today this breakfast recipe!
High-protein loaves with strawberries
You think that the loaf is a little forbidden pleasure? Well not us: it contains a lot of protein thanks to the mixture of white cheese and eggs, and fiber thanks to whole wheat bread and fruit. The rate of sodium is low to avoid swelling and bloating. The potassium contained in strawberries promotes fluid balance and their vitamin C allows you to keep a strong immune system and protects the cells against their daily degradation.
For 1 person
- 65g unsalted and low fat cheese
- 1 large beaten egg
- 2 tablespoons of milk without fat
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon fat-free margarine
- 2 slices of whole bread (the old bread of a few days absorbs better the mixture of eggs)
- 65g fresh strawberries cut into slices
Put the fresh cheese in a blender and mix until smooth (between 30 and 45 seconds). Put it aside. In a large, shallow bowl, combine the egg, milk and cinnamon. Heat half of the margarine in a large non-stick pan over medium or high heat. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture and brown both sides in the pan. Put aside the rest of the egg mixture. When the bread is browned, remove it from the pan. Spread the same amount of fresh cheese on one side of each slice. Place a few strawberries on one of the bread slices, on the cheese side. Make a sandwich by putting the sides with fresh cheese on top of each other. Heat the remaining margarine in the pan over medium heat. Dip the whole sandwich into the egg mixture so that it is completely covered. Place it in the pan. Cook one side until the egg turns brown (about five minutes). Turn it over and cook the other side. Remove the loaf sandwich from the pan and cut it in half. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and add the remaining strawberries.
